About the Role
As a Host at White Pine, you are the first and last impression of the guest experience. This role is essential in setting the tone, welcoming guests with warmth, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and seamless flow of service throughout the evening.
We’re looking for someone who is personable, organized, and genuinely enjoys creating memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival
Manage reservations and waitlists using our reservation system
Maintain an accurate and organized seating chart
Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff
Guide guests through wait times and expectations with grace and clarity
Answer phone calls and assist with guest inquiries
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area
Assist with light service support as needed
Requirements
Must be at least 16 years old (18+ preferred for expanded responsibilities)
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Comfortable using reservation and POS systems (training provided)
Professional appearance and demeanor
About the Company
The Ellison Inn & Lounge is a family-owned boutique inn and lounge in Door County, Wisconsin, blending mid-century character with modern hospitality. We operate a 15-room inn and an active lounge, and are excited to introduce our new on-site restaurant, White Pine Supper Club, opening in May 2026, serving both locals and visitors in one of Wisconsin’s most popular tourist destinations.
