Terms and conditions

Property Information and Policies

 

Cancellation Terms: To cancel a reservation, guests are required to inform the property by replying to the confirmation email or text message received at the time of booking, no exceptions.

  • If a reservation is canceled 15 days or more prior to the arrival date a full refund will be issued for the total deposit amount paid. 

  • For cancellations or modifications made within 14 days of arrival, the deposit is non-refundable and will be forfeited.

  • No shows will result in a forfeiture of the deposit and total amount due, no refund will be provided.


The cancellation terms and times are based on the check-in time of the date of arrival for all reservations (time 3:00 PM CST of arrival date). For verification purposes of when the cancellation was received all cancellations must be submitted by email or text. To cancel, please respond to your original confirmation by way of text or email. Cancellations that are not submitted per these terms will not be eligible for a refund and will forfeit the total amount paid. If you are issued a refund, please allow 5-7 days for your refund to be processed. 

If your reservation was made through a third-party website such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotel Tonight, Airbnb, etc...you are bound to the cancellation policies agreed to when booking on their website. The cancellation policies on their website do differ from our standard cancellation policies and range between 50%-100% loss of your deposit. Any reservation made on a third-party website must be canceled through the third-party website.


Reservations, Rates and Payments: To ensure a smooth booking experience and effective communication regarding your reservation, you must be at least 21 years of age, provide a valid ID, have a phone that allows texting services or a valid email address. All information such as your reservation confirmation, important updates regarding your stay, and any necessary communication related to your reservation is sent via text or email. This policy is in place to streamline the booking process, enhance security, and maintain accurate records of all transactions. You may also place a reservation over the phone by calling 920-854-2928, however, please be aware there may be a delay if we are unable to answer the phone right away. Please note this phone line is for reservations only.

A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance due for the reservation is automatically charged on the date of arrival. For reservations made within the same day, full payment is due at the time of booking.

All rates are quoted in United States currency, plus tax.  Rates may increase without notice.  Rates as advertised on the The Ellison Inn & Lounge website, or any other website or promotional material are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel’s discretion.  Rates are based on the standard double bed (up to 4 adults total occupancy or 2 adults +3 children max), king (up to 2 adults total occupancy or 2 adults +1 child max), and are subject to availability. All rates are subject to 13.5 % State and Local taxes.

Credit card authorization is required for all reservations and is used to secure payment for the room rate, total stay amount, taxes, and any additional charges. This includes, but is not limited to, unauthorized late check-outs, theft, and damage as specified in our terms.

Accepted payment methods include Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.


Check-in Access: Check-in access information is sent in the morning of your arrival date. The Ellison Inn is a self-check-in hotel; as such there are no dedicated front desk attendants. However, attendants are onsite and available between the hours of 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Please note that if you are checking in after 8 PM staff members may not be readily available and our front desk will be closed.


Check-In & Check-Out Times: Check-In time is 3:00 pm and Check-out time is 10:00 am sharp. Access codes begin and stop working at these times unless an early check in or late departure has been added and authorized. To avoid incurring an automatic late check-out fee of $50, we kindly remind you to vacate the room no later than the confirmed check-out time. The Ellison Inn and Lounge retains the authority to access the room following the designated check-out time and will promptly charge the credit card if the room has not been completely vacated. Upon checking out please hang the door hanger with the “we’ve checked out” side facing forward. 


Early Arrivals and Late Departures: You may add an early arrival or late check out to your reservation for a fee if the option shows as available. 


Property and Contact Information: The Ellison Inn is a self-check-in hotel; however, attendants are on-site and available during regular business hours. Our front desk attendants are not committed to the front desk as we are a small family-owned and operated business with limited employees available to cover all operational duties. Our team members often wear multiple hats, which can lead to them being needed in various parts of the building and varying availability throughout the day. Rest assured, you will always find friendly faces and kind staff on site during your stay, and available via text. We pride ourselves on providing a clean, safe, comfortable and personalized service to our guests and thank you for your understanding and kindness. Once you have arrived communication is available via in person, or text between 8am-8pm.

Parking: Free parking is available in the main parking lot of The Ellison Inn and Lounge. This parking lot is directly in front of the building. Parking is at your own risk. All vehicle(s) must be registered with us. Due to the parking lot size and capacity of available parking spots we can only guarantee one parking space per room. The Ellison Inn & Lounge shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, boats, trailers, or contents while operated or parked on the hotel property. If you see a sign designated to a specific vehicle type please do not park in that spot unless you received communication that the reserved sign is for you specifically. 

 

Wi-Fi: We offer free Wi-fi. Please reference your guidebook and arrival text for the Wi-Fi network name and password.


Rooms: All renovated rooms boast the original wood paneling in pristine condition and offer you the choice of either one (1) king bed or two (2) full beds. All bathrooms retain the original vintage tile and vanities while offering updated lighting, bespoke wallpaper, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and blow dryers.  Each room brings its own unique personality to the table, with colors that compliment the bathroom tiles. The colors are natural yet bold featuring shades of Coppice Blue, Earthy Green, Turmeric Yellow, and Prunella Plum. Every room is furnished with its own distinctive furniture, while also featuring period reflective seating for 2 with a table, nightstands, and 55” frame TVs with cable. 


Special Requests: We will make every effort to honor special requests such as a specific room type, room view, or color of room. We do offer 1 set of adjoining rooms. At the time of making a reservation please add any and all special requests at the time of booking. All special requests are noted on reservations, and we will do our best to accommodate them. We cannot make any guarantees that special requests will be met but will do our best depending on the availability of the request. 


Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM - STRICTLY Enforced – should guests violate this policy; a warning will be given. A second violation will result in immediate eviction from the hotel without a refund.


Housekeeping Services And Access To Rooms: To comply with the Stay Safe Guidelines by the American Hotel & Lodging Association and in anticipation of individual concerns of guests, housekeeping is not entering guest’s rooms during a stay unless specifically requested by the guest. For your comfort, we want your stay to be as undisturbed as possible. Therefore, should you need anything such as an exchange of towels, garbage removal, or additional amenities, please text or go to the desk between 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. For an added fee, a light cleaning service during your stay can be provided at the guest's request between 8a-12pm. Guests staying more than three days are welcome to schedule a complimentary light cleaning service between 8a-12pm.

 

Occupancy: Hotels have occupancy limits based on room size and safety codes. Exceeding the occupancy limit can be a fire hazard and may violate local safety regulations. Should the guest count exceed the stated limit The Ellison Inn and Lounge maintains the authority to terminate any reservation at its discretion. This action may be taken without prior notice and will result in the forfeiture of any payments made for the reservation. Occupancy limits are as follows.

Double Bed Room - 4 adults or 2 adults +3 children max

King room - 2 adults or 2 adults +1 child max


Surveillance: The lobby, lounge and exterior of the hotel are under 24/7 surveillance.


Pets: Should evidence of a pet be found we reserve the right to charge a minimum of $200 or more for cleaning. Emotional support animals are not allowed. Certified service dogs are allowed and must follow the rules according to the ADA.  Service dogs must always be under your control, whether this is by means of a leash, hand gestures or voice control, your dog cannot become unruly. In addition, if your service dog damages anything in the hotel, you are still liable for the cost of those damages. Service dogs must be picked up after inside and outside at the hotel property. Per the ADA only dogs are considered a service animal. To help us prepare please add a note about your service dog when making your reservation. 


Smoking: The Ellison Inn & Lounge is a 100% non-smoking facility which includes but not limited to (cigarettes, vaping, and more). It is important to us to provide a healthy environment to our guests and staff. Per the anti-smoking law, smoking is prohibited within a 9 meter radius of every door and window of the establishment. Any evidence of smoking in or near the guest’s room (including smell) will result in a minimum charge of $200. In addition, possession and consumption of cannabis is prohibited on the entire site and in the state of Wisconsin. DO NOT SMOKE NEAR THE ENTRYWAYS OR NEAR GUEST ROOMS. 


No Party Policy: The Ellison Inn & Lounge enforces a strict No Party Policy for the comfort and security of all guests. Excessive noise will not be tolerated at any time. 


Traveling with Children: Children aged 17 and under stay for free when sharing a room with one or more paying adult(s), using existing bedding. Children are considered an occupant and occupancy limits must be abided by.  


Cribs & Roll Away Cots: We do not supply or offer cribs or cots


Lost & Found Policy: The Ellison Inn & Lounge assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please email or text us immediately at and we will assist you in locating your lost item. 


Any item, with the exception of perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to thirty (30) days. A reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.

Damage and/or Theft of Hotel Property: You are liable for any damage caused (whether by a deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s), hotel’s premises, or property caused by you or any person in your party.  The Ellison Inn & Lounge reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at registration and charge or debit the credit /debit card in such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good of the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by The Ellison Inn & Lounge as a result of the aforesaid. Should damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, unauthorized pets/animals, smoking fee, cleaning fee, extra guest compensation, etc.  We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting a specialist to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that the guest would incur to a minimum.


Damage To Mattresses And Bedding: Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, and blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe & shoe polish, outdoor usage (beach, picnic), etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.
 

Damage Or Tampering With Fire Detection Systems/Fire-Fighting Equipment: The Ellison Inn & Lounge reserves the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered with or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, exit signs, and fire extinguishers.  Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel.  


Consequences of Taking Hotel Property: Our guest rooms are designed to feel like a home away from home, filled with thoughtfully selected items for your enjoyment. Each room is thoroughly inspected and all items verified prior to guest arrival. The Ellison Inn & Lounge reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for the replacement cost of any missing items, including but not limited to bathroom linens, bedding, furniture, décor, and economy-sized toiletries.

 

Tax Exempt Guests: Guests requesting tax exemption must first complete their reservation. Once the reservation is confirmed, please reply to the confirmation email with proof of your tax-exempt status by providing the organization's CES Tax ID number or certificate. If tax-exempt status cannot be verified, lodging tax will be applied until proper documentation is received. 

 
3rd Party Rates and Terms and Policies: If you made your reservation through a third-party website such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotel Tonight, Airbnb, etc. you are bound to the cancellation policies agreed to when booking on their website. The cancellation policies on their website do differ from our standard cancellation policies and range between 50%-100% loss of your deposit. Any reservation made on a third-party website must be canceled through the third-party website originally booked through. Rates may vary through 3rd party booking platforms from our direct website. For the best rate we recommend booking directly through us. 

 

Right To Refuse Service: The Ellison Inn & Lounge reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for reasons not in violation of Federal or State laws. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy and may refuse service, deny entry, or evict guests—without refund—for violating hotel policies, causing disturbances, failing to pay, unlawful activity, property damage, exceeding room occupancy, or inability to supervise children.

Management also reserves the right to enter rooms marked “Do Not Disturb” for emergencies, maintenance, safety checks, or policy violations. In cases of suspected illegal activity, law enforcement may be summoned, and the right to privacy is waived. Evicted guests will grant immediate access to hotel property and rooms.

 

In Case Of Emergency or Fire: For Emergencies, please call 911. Please notify staff or respond to any text messages from us such as your confirmation in the event of a fire or other emergencies.  A map that shows emergency exits can be found on the back of your room door as well as the Guest Information guidebook located in each guest room.

Terms & Conditions: The Ellison Inn & Lounge makes its best efforts to ensure that all the information that appears on its website is accurate.  However, no warranty, expressed or implied, is given that the information provided on this website is error-free.  The Ellison Inn & Lounge does not accept liability for any errors and/or omissions and reserves the right to change the information published at any time and without notice.
