
About the Role
The Ellison Inn is seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our team and help create memorable experiences for our guests through exceptional baked goods and desserts. This role is responsible for preparing fresh pastries, breakfast items, desserts, and seasonal specialties served exclusively at The Ellison Inn.
As our Pastry Chef, you'll have the opportunity to bring your creativity to the kitchen by developing signature recipes and seasonal offerings while maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency. Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare fresh pastries, muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes, breakfast baked goods, and specialty desserts for guests of The Ellison Inn in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
Develop seasonal baked goods and signature pastries that enhance the guest experience while maintaining consistency in flavor, presentation, and portion sizes.
Coordinate daily pastry production to ensure fresh items are available for breakfast service, special events, guest amenities, and other inn offerings.
Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, assist with ordering and restocking, and maintain appropriate inventory levels for daily production.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary baking workspace while following all food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards.
Package and present baked goods attractively for guest service, retail offerings, or special requests.
Assist with creating new menu items and holiday or seasonal specialties that reflect the character and hospitality of The Ellison Inn.
Work collaboratively with the inn management team to ensure an exceptional guest experience while maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency.
Perform other baking and kitchen-related duties as assigned to support the successful operation of The Ellison Inn.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of two years of professional experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, Pastry Cook, Bakery Chef, or in a similar baking or pastry role.
Ability to follow standardized recipes while maintaining consistent quality and presentation.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the inn's management team.
Creative mindset with a passion for developing seasonal and specialty baked goods.
Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Availability to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.
